APA Citations and Formatting: Sept 22, 6-7 p.m.
Do you need a refresher course on APA rules? Or maybe you’re an MLA person who’s unfamiliar with APA conventions. If so, then this seminar is for you! We’ll transform the ~270 pages of the APA Publication Manual (6th ed) into something manageable by highlighting the rules and conventions that pertain to Rossier students (not researchers or psychologists)! This seminar covers how and when to cite, primary/secondary citations, numbers formatting, and more.
Introduction to Graduate Writing: Sept 29, 6-7 p.m.
This seminar is intended for students who haven’t written an academic paper in a while–or those who want some writing tips early in the semester. We cover suggestions to become a better self-editor, common grammar and mechanics mistakes, comma usage, and the writing process.
Effective Paragraphing: Oct 6, 6-7 p.m.
This webinar covers introductions, conclusions, and transitions. We also talk about paragraph unity, coherence, and development, as well as using evidence to support a point.
Academic Writing Style: Oct 10, 6-7 p.m.
