Harvard Offers Two-Week Online Programs!!

Professional Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) is pleased to announce the Fall series of 2-week, online professional development programs for K-12 educators. These programs each explore a key concept or practice of particular relevance for today’s K-12 educators, and are grounded in day-to-day teaching and leadership practice.

A core part of the HGSE experience is cohort learning, job-embedded application and reflection, and peer discussion. Our curriculum and learning experience are designed to create a community of practice for participants to learn with and from each other, and to apply what they learn, as they learn, in their own schools and classrooms.

Ensuring Success for All: Tools and Practices for Inclusive Schools
October 3 – 16, 2016 | $149
Based upon the research of HGSE Professor Thomas Hehir, a leading international expert on educating students with disabilities and incorporating inclusive practices in schools, the program will explore how educators can create inclusive school settings that make success possible for all students. Register Today

Education Redesign: Building a New Model for All
October 3 – 16, 2016 | $149
Based upon the research of HGSE Professor Paul Reville, the program explores why current education reform efforts are failing and how we might work to design a new education system. Participants will explore current research on student achievement and the persistent correlation with socioeconomic status. Register Today

The Opportunity of Bilingualism: Serving Today’s Young English Language Learners
October 31 – November 13, 2016 | $149
Based upon the research of HGSE Professor Nonie Lesaux, a leading expert on educating ELL children and early childhood education reform, the program will provide strategies for promoting language and literacy development in linguistically diverse education settings and the implications for effective policies to support this important work. Register Today

Improving Math Instruction Through Feedback

Based upon the research of HGSE Professor Heather Hill, the program provides strategies for promoting high-quality math instruction through observation and feedback using the Mathematical Quality of Instruction (MQI) Coaching protocols, and explores the role of school leaders and instructional coaches in that process.
