The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Intern Program is an Alternative Teacher Certification Program accredited by the State of California with a history of successfully training educators to provide effective instruction to all students in urban settings.
The tuition-free District Intern Program provides its Interns the opportunity to receive an LAUSD teaching assignment.
Interns complete a carefully designed course of study taught by highly qualified, experienced Instructional Facilitators. Interns are also assigned experienced like-credentialed Mentors who support and guide them throughout the Program.
The District Intern Program is fully accredited as a teacher training institution by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). More than 12,000 teachers have earned their teacher certifications with LAUSD.
